Tuesday, October 18, 2011Fall 2011 Music and MoreKelly Clarkson's new album Stronger is simply amazing. I haven't heard a lot of her stuff all the way through (bad fan, I know!!!) but this album is great, and I like it better than her last album All I Ever Wanted. I have pre-ordered the Deluxe Version with the bonus EP from her website, and I can't wait to get it. Hi! I haven't forgotten about you! I just haven't been sure what to post about.
I just recently got back from a trip to LA and I think I had more fun out there than I ever have in any trip out to LA. Labels: Friends, Los Angeles, Travel Saturday, October 8, 2011Sunday, September 11, 2011What if everyone reached out with one hand? Maybe we could change things.
I have wanted to blog for the past week or so, but just couldn't think of exactly what I needed to say. Today is the 10th Anniversary of the September 11th Terorrist Attacks. This video says it all. I'll be back to my regular scheduled blogging soon.

I have used this blog title once before, but it fits again, and I'm going to share the same song from that same blog post.
My birthday is coming up and I need to figure out what to do to celebrate. It's not as big as the #30 that was last year, but I still want to get together with my friends and hang out. Any suggestions?

Ever feel like you need a good cry and can just feel it coming on but it never does? That was my afternoon.
Sunday, August 7, 2011Saturday, July 30, 2011I sent you roses...
This week I came across a song I hadn't really heard in a while. "'Till You Love Me" is probably in my Top 3 favorite Reba songs of all-time.

In celebration of her long-awaited new single, "WEPA", I am going to share one of my favorite Gloria Estefan songs. Very timely. Hope you all are well.

Nothing really new to report here... thought I'd share a song. I had another video here, but I decided to change it to a more positive video. This song is perfect for how I feel about my friends and how I hope they feel about me. (Never thought I'd ever see Elton John wearing a cowboy hat and a bolo tie, though!)Read more »

I love my iPhone. There is an app called Hipstamatic that adds cool effects to the pictures you take. I took some random pictures today around my place and thought I'd share them. I love this app so much. A little too much, possibly.

Labels: Friends, Music, Reba McEntire, Room To Breathe Friday, July 1, 2011Shine Like The Sun"I'm gonna shine like the sun when these clouds roll away from my door..." Following the same line as my last blog post, Dolly Parton released her new album Better Day this week! This song "Shine Like The Sun" is totally relatable and it reminded me about my last blog post and I'm going to continue that subject. Labels: Better Day, Dolly Parton, Music Tuesday, June 28, 2011He's The Bridge You Burn
I've really been liking this song recently! I hope Reba releases it as a single for the fall. Maybe since she's been singing it in concert that means something. The lyrics are just so relatable and I've been learning recently that it's OKAY to let go of things and to say "no" every once in a while. Sometimes I hang on to situations or people so long hoping they'll change, but they won't. Sometimes it's good to burn a bridge.

This post will be a myriad of things. I haven't posted in about a month, because... I just haven't thought about it. I wrote out a post on Saturday night and posted, but deleted it. (More on that later.)

Some songs and lyrics and this idea for a post has been on my mind for a while, so I thought I'd put it down. As I've said before, Music is a big part of my life, and I'm not sure how I'd live without it. Here are some songs that I'm really into right now. Sorry for how weird this is formatted, Blogger apparently doesn't like how I have it setup. I don't ask my friends for much. I do a lot for my friends, but I don't really ask them for much in return. But when I text, or e-mail, or call, or whatever, a response would be nice. A simple "yes" or "no" would suffice (if the original correspondence should warrant a response like that).

I can count on one hand the number of ACTUAL friends I have and still have a leftover finger or two. Sometimes I think that's fine, sometimes I think it isn't. Yesterday someone proved to me that quality versus quantity is a definitely good thing.

I love the band Heart. Their new Live DVD (one of many they've released over their career - I think they have more Live DVD's than any band out there - and I love that!) Night at Sky Church was released on Tuesday. My copy arrived today and I've watched it twice already.
Thursday, March 10, 2011List #2 - March 10, 2011I love this idea so much that I think I am going to continue it from now on. I always have a ton of thoughts going around this head of mine more than just one cohesive thought. I realize these aren't life-changing thoughts, but they are what is on my mind right now. Labels: List Monday, March 7, 2011List #1 - March 7, 2011
I have so much on my mind right now and instead of putting it into paragraphs (I wouldn't even know where to begin), I'm going to make a list.
Labels: List Tuesday, February 8, 2011If I Ever Hold You, I'll Never Let Go... But If I Never Do, How Will I Know? I remember the first time I saw the video to this song. It was on a show called CMT Delivery Room which, at the time, premiered new videos on country music video channel CMT. I still have the tape where I taped it from that inaugural broadcast. This song is from my favorite Reba McEntire album, What If It's You. The videos, the songs, the photos, the artwork, it's a total win for me. But the video is probably my favorite Reba video of all time.... maybe my favorite video of all time. It's that good. I've seen this video so many times that when I hear the song the video just plays in my head. I feel like I could be the main character in this video. Everyone goes through this sort of thing - it's happened to me a couple of times - and at the time, it's not the best feeling in the world. Throughout the video there are scenes that I can totally relate to, especially the dinner scene. When everyone leaves the table and it's just showing Reba there - just so moving - and Reba plays the part very well. I also like the part at the end of the video where the male character (played by Andy Buckley of The Office fame) gives her a gift. Such a sweet moment. Not all people are like that when they are on the other side of this situation, and I love that part. It's another one from Sugarland's Love On The Inside [Deluxe Fan Edition]. I love this song, and I wish I felt like I had someone in my life where these words actually rang true. Labels: Fall Into Me, Love On The Inside [Deluxe Fan Edition], Music, Sugarland Sunday, January 30, 2011Linda Davis I love Linda Davis. Linda is probably best known for "Does He Love You," her Grammy®-winning duet with Reba.Linda and I first met on July 21, 2004 in Columbus, OH at a Reba show. It was your standard after-show meet-and-greet at the merchandise table. Labels: Friends, Linda Davis, Music, Some Things Are Meant To Be Tuesday, January 4, 2011My Heart Stops When You Look At Me....I have absolutely NOTHING to say in this post. I swore to myself that I wouldn't make any posts about anything, it had to be substantial (not that any of my previous posts are substantial by anyone else's point-of-view). For this post I just wanted to share a song. Ninety-percent of the song totally fits someone I've been crushing on for a long long time. Nothing will EVER happen - but for some reason from day 1 of hearing this song, it just makes me think of them. I have no idea why... we have nothing in common with this song - I don't even know if they like this artist. Either way, enjoy! Well, this blog will be dramatically different from the last one.
I am sitting at my makeshift desk in the living room of my Mom's, writing this post. I've been here since Monday, but was kinda fighting off a bit of a cold so I've been taking it easy. By the way, if you remember back to my tomato juice blog, I managed to spill all of my tomato juice this flight all down the front of my jeans. haha! Tonight was the annual get-together my Dad's side of the family. We've been doing this for as long as I can remember, and we had a blast. This year was a bit different though. Earlier this year we lost my Grandpa, so it was different without him there. We lost Grandma quite a few years back and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her. She was the most important thing in my life. Labels: Family, Friends, Holidays, K.T. Oslin, My Roots Are Showing, Sand Mountain Blues Thursday, December 2, 2010Semi-Random Thoughts
I apologize for not blogging for a long while. I have had a hodge-podge of thoughts going through my head the past couple of days. Hopefully this blog post can be somewhat coherent. The hard drive on my Dell Notebook crashed last week and I was without a computer for a week and I'm trying to catch up.

One of my favorite bands is country band Sugarland. Their new album The Incredible Machine comes out on Tuesday. I'm not sure if they can top their last album, Love On The Inside [Deluxe Fan Edition], but after giving it a little more of a listen, I'll be able to make a better decision.Labels: Love, Love On The Inside [Deluxe Fan Edition], Music, Sugarland, The Incredible Machine Friday, October 8, 2010Tomato Juice I've made it to St. Louis. The plane landed about an hour ago, and I hopped on the Metro Link to visit the University City/Delmar Loop area in order to see one of my favorite stores, Vintage Vinyl. When I was in here during the 2009 holiday, I spent quite a bit of money because I'd found a ton of Eurythmics vinyl that I didn't have. Hopefully I'll find some other goodies this time.My flight was pretty short, after getting in the air, before you know it we were about to touch down. Whenever I fly, I normally request Tomato Juice during the drink service. I don't know why, but it's just a flight ritual I have. Labels: Annie Lennox, Eurythmics, Family, K.T.
